This can be done in two different ways, thus resulting in two bicalicene isomers (tentatively referred to as <em>cis</em> and <em>trans</em>). The <em>trans</em> isomer is a stable compound whereas <em>cis-</em>bicalicene appears to be less stable and has never been prepared.
