Fluorescence quenching experiments revealed that the fluorescence intensities of the resulting diphenyl sulfone-functionalized poly­mers were linear with the concentrations of Fe3+ and 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in the concentration ranges of (5.0–24.9)×10-8 and (5.0–50.0)×10-7 mol dm-3, with detection limits of 2.8×10-8 and 2.2×10-7 mol dm-3, respectively. These results created opportunities for the development of novel chemosensors by introducing selective fluorescent groups into polymeric materials.</p> ER -
